A different view of Ajmer
Taragarh’s fort setting is associated with Ajmer’s Chauhan history. Rajasthan Tourism also identifies the Dargah of Hazrat Miran Sayyed Husain Khangswar, known as Miran Sahib, at Taragarh. This shrine is a separate destination from Ajmer Sharif Dargah in the old city.
Choose the Ajmer destination
Use “Taragarh, Ajmer” when arranging your journey and show the driver the map route. There is also a Taragarh in Bundi, so the city name matters. Our route link is for Ajmer.
Our recommendation is to make the hill journey in daylight and agree your return transport before leaving. The hotel travel desk can help arrange local sightseeing on request.
Prepare for a hill outing
- Wear comfortable footwear and carry drinking water.
- Allow a flexible schedule for the uphill journey and stops.
- For anyone with limited mobility, plan transport and the amount of walking with your group before departure.
- At the shrine, dress respectfully and follow local instructions on footwear, access and photography.
Keep the day comfortable
Consider Taragarh as the main outing for that part of the day, with time to rest on your return. If your visit also includes Ajmer Sharif, use our Dargah guide to plan that separately around the published visitor hours.
For family or group accommodation, compare the six room categories at Hotel Royal Suites Plus and share your dates with reservations.
